Time for a new indie roundup at Rampant Games (http://rampantgames.com/blog/?p=1192). As usual, there's a bunch of games we cover regularly, as well as a bunch of RPGMaker, jRPG and other titles we don't. Among the ones we haven't covered is Recettear, which seems to be getting a reaction on various forums to their demo.
More information. (http://www.rpgwatch.com/show/newsbit?newsbit=15750)

Yeah, I don't think I scooped you on any of the western-style RPGs this time. Maybe next time.

We just need more western-style RPGs!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love a good JRPG-style game, especially some of the more inventive-sounding ones like Recettear and Magical Diary, but the JRPG style pretty much dominates the indie scene.

running an item shop in an RPG world.

That's actually not so unique it was featured in Dragon Quest 3 or was it 4? , but it is interesting to take the idea further anyway.
