Space Rangers 2

I saw a screenshot via the main page (love that feature) and it really intrigued me. Researched it a bit and seems like a really interesting hybrid game that gets immense praise from the people who reviewed it.

Anyone familiar with this Ruski game?

It's a pretty cool game from what I've played.. an interesting mix of genres. I only played it briefly, but there are a lot of SP2 fans here who can tell you about it in more detail.

the quest in the game to me are its gold. there's not a whole lot of modern games i can think of that have compeling text based quests that involve choices and using the brain and its logic to solve many of them. for that reason alone i recommend giving the game a go. the core game itself can be enjoyable as well though sometimes it can feel a bit grinding. the only recent game i can think of that has text based adventures as a meta-game is the King Arthur RPG. If it weren't for the bugs that still criple the game due to crashes it would be a top ten RPG for me i think. thankfully Space Ranger 2 and its addon/expansion--Reboot is from what I played bug free. Has anyone heard any news from the developer? It's so sad when so many of these russian devs slip into the cold siberian night never to be heard of again kind of like the devs who made the Nightwatch and Daywatch games.

Mostly, I'd just echo the comments from curious. It's a very enjoyable game with a nice mix of RPG and TBS, although I thought the balance was weighted toward TBS more than many other players (not that I had a problem with that balance). I'd compare the mix to XCOM, which is high praise in my book.

I don't remember a single bug or crash during my 2 runs. I did not have the expansion pack, just SR2, although I seem to remember installing a patch. Slept too many times since then to be certain.
