Greetings!

I've been coming here for a little over a month now, but seeing as I have breaking news yet to be added to the watch I thought I'd check out the forums and throw you all a tasty bone!

Mythos is a game by Flagship Studios who are also making Hellgate:London.

While Hellgate is pay2play and a AAA title, Mythos is going to be 100% free to download and play.

Its an Action/RPG very similar to Diablo2 only with a far greater count of players online and no LAN or single play options.

The beta opened up on the 10th bringing a total character wipe, forum wipe and totally new build from the Alpha.

This was also noted at BluesNews (http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=79191), and apparently the initial round-up of slots is full so you are registering to be included with the next bunch.

When I looked at the overview, I thought so too. Luckily for you it isn't.

On topic: a good thing that they make free games, still I'm not so into the online gaming. The only thing I like is the NWN sessions with some of the elderly folks and a little thief.

Wait a minute ... This formulation implies that Mythos is not AAA ... but BBB instead ... ?

So does that mean you are still in Alpha?

My current favourite testing phases are Pre-Alpha and Public Alpha. Do I see a Gamma phase on the horizon?

For the original poster, we have been covering Mythos at MMOWatch, because it is online-only.

Got my beta invite last night. Got in and tooled around a bit. Seems a basic, solid H'nS romp, but didn't get too far yet. Was a fair amount of folk in the first hub for a beta late on a west coast weekday night...
