Online retailers have apparently let slip that Aspyr is working on a Mac version of NWN2. According to MacWorld (http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/08/21/nwn2/index.php), the toolset won't be included but it will still be possible to play user modules from the PC community. No release date has been revealed.
More information. (http://www.rpgwatch.com/show/newsbit?newsbit=6081)

This surprised the heck out of me when I saw it the other day. I have loads of questions now that I've been doing so much more Mac gaming. I may have to contact my Aspyr friends ...

And I thought the drop of support for Mac's through Gamespy was the end of NWN2 on it.
Is a Linux version now possible?

I don't know - Aspyr does Mac & PC stuff, not Linux.

I realize that it's just that I was thinking with the Mac's newish OS being Unix based would the code just as easily lend itself to the Linux flavours. Was the code written in a WORM language? And of course, is it marketable?
Certainly the standalone server is hotly desired for Linux.

Well, they do have ~18% of the world laptop market (http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/08/21/appleshare/index.php?lsrc=mwtoprss)and almost 6% of the total computer market ... not bad for a non-Windoze machine ;)

Actually, that's US only and the retail market only. ;)

OK, to actually talk about the game, I wonder if this is using the 'Cider' API system that allows other things like GameTap to be rapidly ported? If so I wonder about the performance ... NWN2 was already a little piggie on the PC.
