XBox 360 / PS3 achievement systems

Next gen console makers usually track the player´s achievements online, for example via XBox Live. I have a simple question:

Can this crap be disabled? I don´t want the whole world to know what I play and how I suck at it.

haha! Yes, actually you can turn it off.

Select your gamer card thing, go to games played and enter the privacy settings.

The PS3 won't have achievements ... but the XBOX360 has actually done stupid things like showing people playing in secret / unlockable areas through their achievements / friends list - it happened last week in the new Splinter Cell game ...
