Okay, so I enter Chapter 1 and have to immediately fight the Barghests and save the little kid Alvin. Later I find out from talking to him and Shani that

1) He has no family
2) He has latent magical abilities
3) No one knows what will become of him/ what to do with him
4) He's "not too old" to begin the training (throwback to Yoda ;)
5) Your next up and coming Witcher, Leo, was just killed.

And yet there is no option for "Hey kid, wanna be a Witcher? Let me take you to Vesemir to begin training."

What's up with that? I mean, it's nit-picky I know, and not a big deal, but did that seem like a gift horse to anyone else? And that goes back to my title for this thread: No wonder there aren't anymore Witchers - they don't answer when opportunity knocks!

*bear in mind I only began chap. 1 and so if such a plot opens up further down the road please forgive this wasted rant :)

Just keep playing the damn game. You haven't seen the last of Alvin, not by a long shot.

1. There's no one capable of mutating him into a Witcher.
2. Since all the remaining Witchers left Kaer Morhen, there's no one there to train him and even less, feed him.
3. Geralt himself is also much too busy to take on a protégé.
