View Full Version : Minor(?) problem with Cut-scenes

I'm having a bit of trouble with cut-scenes in chapter 1. I first noticed when I was approaching the Inn compound and suddenly presented a cut-scene in which Geralt observes that "Miss Vesna has some unwanted visitors." I was like, WTH? Since I hadn't even reached the Inn yet and at that point had no idea who "Miss Vesna" was.... Then suddenly another cut-scene appeared that you could tell was not started at the beginning. All it contained was Vesna telling me "Farewell," and apparently I teleported to the Inn somehow!? I follow her back to the group that's planning to rape her, and I kill them. I'm now presented a quest to help her get home, but I have no idea where 'home' is?!?

And just in case I checked my map - there is no quest marker identifying the location.

I re-loaded an earlier part thinking maybe that would fix things, and then I learned that the problem existed elsewhere. My re-load point was just before I happened upon Zoltan the Dwarf and the thugs that were harrassing him. This second time presented me with more cut-scene than the first time, so now I don't know what to think!

Any ideas?

Funny, I'm pretty sure I had quest tracking work for escorting her. Are you sure you switched it on (to that quest) in your Journal?

In any case, her granny's house is near the north-west corner of the map, in the same cluster as the Reverend's.

I don't fully understand what you're saying about the Zoltan encounter, so no comments on that.

Well, the quest tracking part must have been my mistake - I didn't realize you have to turn that on to specific quests. That's a big help thanks.

What happened with Zoltan was this: 1st time triggered cutscene that showed thugs picking on Zoltan, then they draw weapons and attack (end cutscene). Then Geralt mumbles something about deciding what to do.

2nd time triggered cutscene showing thugs picking on Zoltan, then one of them approaches me and tells me to beat it (end cutscene). I am then offered a dialogue option to choose either way. - A few seconds, and a dialoge choice that was totally missing from my first encounter. Maybe it's a distance thing? I think I was closer into the action on the second go-around. I can't imagine cutscenes being tailored to your physical proximity... but if they are, this game is way more polished than I have given credit for. Nevertheless, there is definitely something wrong with the Vesna sequence... But now that I know how to find Granny's house I can still complete the quest at least...

That sounds like a bug. I had that encounter in the "long form" and I'm pret-ty sure it's supposed to play that way.
