...in Team Fortress 2. As the year winds down, the Bethblog has a fun item with a detailed After Action Report of a recent TF2 multiplayer showdown between the two studios (http://bethblog.com/?p=397):
As mentioned before, many of our devs take Team Fortress II pretty seriously when playing against other studios (http://bethblog.com/?p=344). This past week was a big one, as the Vault 101 Dwellers took on the boys from Bioware. Check out our very own Nate Purkeypile’s summary of the victory. It’ll be remembered here at the office as “Mass Beatdown.”
Last night, two titanic forces met in a battle of epic proportions. A prophet foretold of the match ages ago and said that two studios would have a battle to decide once and for all, who was the best RPG studio…well, or who was better at a multiplayer shooter. The day… was a Thursday. The maps would be Dustbowl and 2fort.

their fascination with this game may speak volumes about the direction the two companies have chosen lately.

Or maybe they just like more than one type of game..?

Thank the Heavens, they're human after all!

...and TF2 is the third-best MP game in the world... straight after the original, non-classic TF and DoD.

Good to see that at least bethsoft haven't lost their sense of humour :D and
self-irony ;)

Bioware probably lost because they were trying to find the correct conversations on the non-existent dialogue wheel to spout snide remarks and renegade options at bethsoft, while bethsoft just pulled out the -ehm- fatman from Fallout 3.

This, of course, os to be taken for the light christmas joke that it surely is...

TF Classic was with Half-Life, wasn't it? If so, I liked it a lot (and haven't played the others).

Yup, TFC came with one of the HL packages, but I don't remember if it was HL itself or one of the addons. Never liked Team Fortress Classic *that* much... the models and levels looked wrong, somehow... but perhaps this was just the result of Jaz playing too much pre-Halflife Team Fortress back in the days. I really do like the look and feel of TF2, though. The comic-y touch is very comforting.

Damnit, who let both sets of devs loose from the treadmill to have fun and games?! They should be working on our games! :p
