Hi,

i just stumbled upon this interesting kinda oldschool rpg, which shall be released early in 2007 according to the website.

www.woc-game.de

You play an half-orc from a perspective which seems to be gothic-inspired, but the combat will be fought out in turns! The graphics and the music samples on the website suggest a very nice game.

Maybe the rpgwatch staff could arrange an interview with the developers/publishers?

Wow that trailer looks pretty cool! Seems like a real-time / turn-based combination - free roaming in the world, with a tile-oriented turnbased combat system.

Thanks for that - I saw something about playing a half-orc on the original. Nice difference - you start out service a chaotic master and shape your destiny from there.

Any news on this one dhruin? The official site seems to be dead as well as the forums there.
It still states a release date of 22. Jan. in germany, but i doubt that will happen on monday.

The bhv product manager posted at the WoC forums (in German) that they apologize for not updating the website and that the game has been delayed (d'oh). The new ETA is March 2007. They are planning to update the website with more news (he didn't specify what kind of news) in the near future.

Apparently the german version of the game has gone gold today and will be published around end of march / beginning of april.

New infos and a new trailer will be published within the next days on the german website.

I was just looking into it and found no information on an English-language release. The site appears all-German to me. Maybe they build up a special English-language site for it ?

Yes, it is the site of the german publisher of the game. Therefore i mentioned that is in german.
I don´t know anything about an english release.
But i guess since they are polishing the title and plan a patch with the developers already, this will also be beneficial for a possible english version of the game.

A post in their german forum says they are working on different language versions before making a demo so i guess english will be amongst them :)

Unfortunately this german preview (http://www.krawall.de/web/World_of_Chaos/preview/id,23917/s,,c) doesnt read that optimistic. it sounds like there are some heavy interface and control problems and that the appereance is sort of "lifeless".

nevertheless i´m looking forward to the demo. i think the game could be a good tip for the kind of players lurking around here...

i got this one... and put it away. a lot of potential and great sound, but very buggy. the major problem is that quest logic is broken. to solve a quest you have to do things in proper order and journal is of no help at all. Manual says nothing about RPG-system and and... first patch is out but it only fixes few bugs.
Looks like another low-cost east-european RPG as GODs. The developer is gone so there is little hope they will sell a lot in Germany to publish other language versions.

I read the german site, the game looks cool and somehow reminds me of Gothic 1 and 2... i am not sure how. When I watched the trailer, I could swear it is made by Piranha Bytes, and I was disappointed when I saw it is another company.
I may give a try, if only I find a demo somewhere.

There is a review in the german Print-Mag "Gamestar" with a rating of 54/100, flaws that are mentioned are a lack of documentation, balance, bad controls and bugs...

And there's another review (http://www.gamecaptain.de/PC/Artikel/3180/World_of_Chaos_Test.html) at GameCaptain where WoC scored a whooping 35%. It seems to be establishing itself as quite the little stinker :biggrin: .

Interesting for our German readers: CDV bought a site named Gamesmania. The news also said, which wasn´t new to me, that the RPG-focused site OnlineWelten.de is under control of the publisher Frogster and Gamona has been swallowed by Pro7/Sat1.
