Another promising game that might just not make it to the market. Suffers clearly from poor PR, the english forums require registration, and the form is in... ukrainian/russian, gamefaqs doesn´t even know what it is, neither does gamespot. Newer of the trailers shows it has some decent-looking gore/dismemberment, and the structural design ingame is unique. Been looking forward to this game for few years now. Seems to me that all the gritty swordplaygames suffer a commercial death like DBTS and Severance.

Oh, and they released new screenshots yesterday.

Someone PM'ed me on the Dot about it being delayed again. Not sure about the source though. This is the S.T.A.L.K.E.R of the RPG world - except nobody is following but a handful of people (including myself).

So, HoE is being exhumed again. Already given up on this game. Whilst the graphics are getting dated, I hope they retain the combat demonstrated in the earlier ingame clips.

Unfortunately I was in a bit of a hurry and couldn´t convince myself to just buy it.

The release in Russia is planned for 4 quarter 2008 (December) though its developers already time 20 postponed:) In English game too leaves, but not earlier 2009...

Heart of Eternity was suddenly released in Russia as low-cost product at 26 Februar.
I didnt play it, but most russian reviews (and also opinions of single gamers) are horrible.

As i undestand, most developers leaved the project after they recognized that most ideas cannot be realised due to small budget.

Ugh I've been waiting for what feels like a decade for this game. What happened to all the hi res screenshots? Looks like they had to scale back the graphics significantly and you can still see gobs of lag even with the reduced detail. Pompolic Call for Heros had that problem. Bad engine. I've gotta say though, Beltion beyond Ritual looks like it has alot more potential.

That's a good question. I've never seen or heard of any plans to release either of them in English. Afaik, no publisher has been announced…

OK. I got official word from ND personnel. There is no English version of Heart of Eternity or Beltion. There is no way to buy Russian retail version from them since they do not support credit cards and paypal is not working in Russia.

But you never now. Remember Farewell to Dragons and Planet Alcatraz. Both quite old titles in Russia and released at the end of last year in English. Sure there is practically no chance for retail release but there is a hope for digital download.

I also received free download Russian copies of Beltion and Heart of Eternity. Just downloading Beltion but their server is awfully slow (50-100KB/sec). Will report after I try the game.

OK. I have both games on disk. Now I am having some trouble activating the games and a guy from ND is helping me. Will report as soon as I get one of the title running on my computer.
I did check some of the folders and found an interesting thing. There is an English version of intro video with subtitles. Guess they must have some English material after all.

OK, here is my report

I got both games working with official keys on my laptop. As I have only two time activation keys I can not afford to install this game to my prime computer at the moment. As a result the games play a bit choppy on my laptop at high settings.

First thing I tried Beltion. I was poking around configuration files in Beltion directory and to my surprise I was able to change a couple of strings to English and here you go...

There is actually an English demo build within the game itself. It looks like everything is in English except for the voiceovers which are still Russian. Also the demo starts in a different place than the complete game, in some sort of port city.

And now for the whole game. Another surprise. I changed a couple of strings in cfg file and the result is:
All options for in game settings are translated, intro has subtitles, the beginning of the game is in English, except for the quest logs.
Here is the video of playing complete Russian version with English language enabled through cfg changes (cannot load more than 5 minutes long video)

As it seems the developer did quite a lot of work for international release and some things must prevent them to complete the translation (no publisher, no founds, no interest,... who knows). It is a pity since the game looks and plays like a decent Gothic clone.
Will report on Heart of Eternity later this month.

Unfortunately I do not have spare time to play Beltion a bit more at the moment as I have other RPGs to finish and other work.
All I can say is that it plays like a mediocre Gothic clone. Combat is simplistic click fest but you do have an option to block. It is an action RPG no doubt but I can not say much about story and quests at the moment. Quests notes are not translated so it will be hard to understand anyway.:-/ There seems to be cities as you can see in the demo video above and quite a lot of quests and talking.

Hope this gets an English release it looks very promising, i always seem to enjoy the smaller studio releases moreso then the hold your hand American releases we see all too often these days.
