According to EA's financial report (http://news.ea.com/portal/site/ea/index.jsp?ndmViewId=news_view&newsId=20090203006591&newsLang=en) about the last quarter of 2008, Warhammer Online ended the year with 300K active subscribers. However according to the website (http://herald.warhammeronline.com/warherald/NewsArticle.war?id=371) of Warhammer Online there are 750K registered players. Then again as EA lists it as a highlight, the difference probably was expected.
Thanks Hedek for the info.

For my part, WAR lost my interest really quickly. In as much as I really liked it early on (up to lvl 30), after that it really felt much more of the same and did so much faster than other MMOs.

The PvP is in principle a very good idea, and the public quests are great, but in practice fighting for the same keep day after day and grinding rep wears thin.

Not to mention that it suffers from the same thing that made a good game like DAoC worthless. If there is nobody else playing, there is nothing to do. (Talking about PvP)
