This is rather big news about Windows 7 and just been announced by Microsoft - you could actually run Windows XP (SP3) from within the Windows 7 (Release Candidate confirmed on May 5). Windows XP will come free with Windows 7 Professional and above.

This is big step forward in term of compatibility and usage of legacy softwares, especially for business user.

It's not actually included in the box, you have to download it separately. It also appears to be some kind of compatibility mode, not an actual copy of Win XP.

Still very promising though, especially if it works as advertised.

It runs under a virtual machine but it will probably decrease many compability problems,don't expect 3d hardware acceleration though.

yes, this is processor supported virtualisation to make it more compatible to WinXP programs. but then again, not sure about the performance when it comes to games
