Unexpected news that Arkane is collaborating with 2K Marin on Bioshock 2. According to their website (http://www.arkane-studios.fr/uk/bioshock.php), they are helping in the areas of "design, animation and art". Another snip:
Here is what Alyssa Finley, producer at 2K Marin, says about Arkane’s contribution to the game :
“BioShock 2 is a world class project led out of 2K Marin that features involvement from a variety of premiere studios from around the world. In the past we’ve been working closely with 2K Australia for our tech needs and Digital Extremes for our robust multiplayer experience. Today I’m proud to say that we’ve added another important developer to the mix. Under the direction and leadership of 2K Marin, Arkane is assisting in the creation of levels that embody the aesthetic and gameplay ideals that make BioShock such a unique and exciting experience”

...wait, so is this the rumoured first-person roleplaying game Arkane is/was supposedly working on?
Please say no! I was so hoping for an Arx Fatalis 2 after all these years.

You're not the only one, I think most of us around here would have prefered an Arx 2 over a Bioshock 2. That decision would have been a no-brainer for me.

Bioshock 2 is going to make them the money though...

Arx Fatalis is what gave them their start, really wish they would make Arx 2 already.

Have to echo the Arx Fatalis 2 sentiment with a finger cast U W flourish! I really enjoyed that game and wish more dungeons could be made as interesting to explore and with more interactivity.

Even before Dark Messiah came along (wasn't Arx 2 going to use this engine?)
I thought we'd have got to see an Arx sequel by now for sure.

I never finished Bioshock, but only played it for a couple of hours so. May have to investigate into getting it cheap again.
