If I remember well, the don guy told me to kill it without anyone noticing. How can you do that with that farmer watching it basically *all* the time? Been hiding over there for half the night and he never moved out or went to sleep.

I bet there is something I didnt understand.

After I killed the cow I was attacked by the farmer, who saw me doing it. Killed him. he resurrected. It had no negative effect, AFAIK.

how to get this quest? there is no dialogue triggering this quest when i spoke with Konrad.

You get the quest from one of Don's men in the town, i forget who. It's about fleecing all the merchants. I, too, beat the crap out of the farmer guarding the cows and it didn't affect anything else.

i got the 'fleecing' quest from Cid and managed to loot Dargel's (the butcher) chest. when i went back to report to Cid, he just told me to stay away from Dargel for a while. that's all.. :(
