    About Me
My first exposure to cRPG's came in the '80's on our first home computer, an Apple IIe. Games I totally became lost in were the Wizardry series, Ultima IV, the Bard's Tale III, and my personal favorite Might and Magic 1. I just started playing them without even being aware that they belonged to a genre of games that were actually derived from PnP RPG's. Being a massive Tolkien fan I had no problems adjusting to this kind of games, and being 10-12 years helped with immersion and having the required fantasy (especially with the minimal graphics). Offcourse I mapped out M&M 1 on graph paper, and I kept that thing up until today. When I was in college I revisited some of those old games through the "Ultimate RPG Archives" and playing all the M&M games. It was not until the early 2000's that the genre was revived with the unsurpassed Baldur's Gate I. I loved that game and it's expansions and successor. Baldur's Gate II may stand as a pinnacle of cRPG's, with deep gameplay, complex questing, item and levelling fever and excellent implementation of the DnD core ruleset. The massive battle (and numerous reloads) to kill a badass Red Dragon with my fledgeling party and finding a +5 Paladin's sword in the loot afterwards, stands out as one of my all-time best cRPG moments. The game I truly fell in love with and is still my alltime no 1. favorite has to be Planescape Torment. It's peculiar but captivating setting, it's masterful conceit of dying as a game mechanic, the melancholic story and mature themes, the bonding with NPC's and their own backstory, the deep interaction with them, the fact that Charisma and Wisdom were the most important stats instead of Might and Intelligence, the multiple endings, the possibility to play evil as a valid and equal option, the rich depiction of gameworld history and lore, the great often humorous writing, well I could go on and on about this game. The required stat for the gamer would be stamina because of the heavy use of text, I regard th
