High Res Texure Pack

Just saw this free DLC/update pop-up on Steam. Anyone had a look yet?

darkling February 7th, 2012 20:19

The Steam servers are currently too busy to handle your request. Please try again in a few minutes.

Thrasher February 7th, 2012 20:44

Steam issues again? It may take a few days for them to compensate…

Shagnak February 7th, 2012 21:04

It's installing right now for me.
3.1GB? Woah.
Still, that's only 50 or so minutes at my current rate. Be interesting to see how much it nukes my performance.

Thrasher February 7th, 2012 21:04

Looks like I need to try taking Steam back online. :)

Menigal February 7th, 2012 21:06

This might take some time. :p

Thrasher February 7th, 2012 22:10

I have a 1 Gbit line the whole afternoon. If it's still not done in 4 hours, then Steam truly sucks. ;)

Great thread! I missed this somehow. Downloading it right now … took a moment to find it but psyched.

shaf February 8th, 2012 03:59

It only took me 30 Min. to Download, The new textures do look much better. Now if only Nvidia could release a Signed Driver although the Latest Beta hasn't given me any problems.

yllaettaevaet February 8th, 2012 12:39

Downloading, will probably take an hour. I hope there won't be problems with the high res pack from Skyrimnexus.

Menigal February 8th, 2012 21:49

Heh. There's also a Portal 2 space sphere mod now.

sakichop February 8th, 2012 23:54

Anyone else notice the textures load about 10 feet in front of you really noticeable when following a path with snow on both sides.

Just un-installed it used mods are just too much better.

Thrasher February 9th, 2012 00:12

FYI, it appears a 64-bit OS is needed to prevent CTDs.

See here for supporting evidence: http://forums.bethsoft.com/topic/134…c/page__st__30

Should've been obvious considering the texture pack notes say you need at least 4GBs of ram and 1Gb vidcard.

GothicGothicness February 9th, 2012 18:38

Now I might finally consider buying skyrim…..

33% off now ("midweek madness") so I bought it.

GothicGothicness February 9th, 2012 19:27

I would too, but I cannot buy anything on steam… it is a bug… a funny one at that how are they planning to earn any money if that function doesn't work for some customers? LOL
