Risen (2) Review at PC Gamer
 

Well, it looks like my news submission to the mods was ignored. PC Gamer reviewed Risen 2 in this month's issue, and it was a particularly bad review. This Rich McCormick has a running history of bad reviews. Keep that in mind when he writes anything in the future.

Funniest thing, the table of contents listed the article as "Risen" without the "2". Most perturbing is that they've dropped all the columnists, which to me was the best part of the magazine, it's heart and soul. If they are doing this to cut costs, when they switched to thicker paper stock, they going about it the wrong way. I wouldn't be surprised if PC Gamer bites the dust soon due to its poor management.

They seem to be merging the UK and US editions, since Rich McCormick is a writer for the UK edition, he gave the first game 65.

Yeah, they are merging. Another sign of decline, I suppose…

The actual review doesn't seem as bad as the score he gave it.

It certainly doesn't give him any credibility in my eyes though. There's no flippin way Risen 2 is a 61/100, and this same guy evidently scored Dragon Age 2 94/100.

This isn't a new review either.. it's dated May 4th.

It just appeared in print this week in the US edition. Probably was borrowed from the UK edition.

Used to be such a great mag too way back when :(
