Dark Souls - Prepare to Die Edition - Review @ Eurogamer
Eurogamer has reviewed Dark Souls for PC, dismissing the port complaints against the strengths of the game. The score is 9/10 and here's a sample:

One one hand, the port lacks good mouse controls and resolution settings.
On the other, controls are perfect with gamepad and resolution has been fixed on day 1, albeit by a modder. And on a third hand, the game never crashed and I did not see a single bug, in 30 hours of gameplay, even when playing at 2560*1440. On a fourth hand, framerate is perfectly stable all the time, unlike on consoles, and there is plenty of new content included. So yes, 9/10 seems appropriate. |
why not 10/10? whats keeping it down in your opinion?

The game is awesome.
Too bad for the less-than-barebone effort from Namco and From Software for this port. If adequately supported, this could be a cult hit on PC, selling steadily for years. As it is it would be remembered as a glaring example of a poor console port and a missed chance. I'm still loving the game, by the way. |
