Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition: iPad version Updated to 1.0.2012
Just noticed in iTunes that Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition's iPad version has been updated to 1.0.2012. Besides it bringing support for iOS 5 and thus iPad 1, it also brings the following:

That's a really long list of bugs…

I don't see UI issues addressed? My friend stopped playing on his iPad because the touch interaction worked so poorly for some things (selection-based, I think). He'd been super-keen, but his enthusiasm soon waned…

Selection has been MASSIVELY improved in this new version on the iPad - some kind of intelligent system it would seem, so you just need to click near to something and it adjusts to select what you should have clicked instead.
It's now super easy to select things to pick up etc. |
^ Yeah I'd heard that was one of the biggest iPad grumbles, so good to hear that they addressed it.

Nice, they've skipped the IOS 6 only support since i now could purchase it (tried it at release and it said IOS 6 only).
Gonna be interesting :) Edit: works beautifully, very impressed with the interface compared to the GemRB "emulation" i tried some time ago.. looks really great too, i think the characters looks better, maybe it's because its a smaller screen. The zoom function alone makes it worth playing it on the ipad imo ;) |

I played Baldur's Gate 1 when it first came out. But I got bored about 2/3 of the way through and never finished. I still have the box and manual so maybe NOW its time to give it another go. |

Hmmm … I didn't have selection issues even on my iPad Mini, but nice to see all the improvements. I just finished it last week, so it will be a bit before I try it again.

yeah, not a big fan of the D&D rule set. Actually not a fan at all. I actually hated the Gold box games back in the early day and seldom finished any of those games. For me, I like the game mechanic of being able to level up as long as you are playing. And most D&D rule set games have limitations. But no, I am not giving up my crpg card. I will however skip the part of the meeting that deal with D&D rules for computer games. I'll just bring the sprite and Doritos and come back later. |
Hated Gold box games?
