Child Of Light - New JRPG From Ubisoft

Child Of Light is a reimagining of classic fairy tales being developed by Ubisoft. I have a new trailer to watch if you are interested.

The Queen of the Night has stolen the Sun, the Moon and the Stars. You play as Aurora, the daughter of an Austrian duke with a pure heart whose soul is brought to the kingdom of Lemuria. Embark on a quest to recapture the three sources of light, defeat the Queen of the Night and restore the kingdom of Lemuria.

More information.

This looks great. Hopefully it turns out well for them and serve as a reason for bigger publishers to do some smaller stuff.

Anime style or even 2D or 3D, I like unified art direction and I think the style suits a poetic fairy tale, at least. I'm not sure of Farcry but Ubisoft Montreal doesn't sound bad although much about the writing and the gameplay remains to be seen.

I don't get it, it looks like it's turn based but you only control one character. Turn based shines for multi-character gameplay.

? Where did you get the idea? This article has longer gameplay footage with comments. That said, as I wrote, much remains to be seen-this RPS article has more cautious tone, for example.

Interesting. Saw an interview where a developer talked about a playble poems, all dialogue is in rhymes…
