Dagger XL - world map progress

"A lot of progress has been made when it comes to rendering the exterior world of Daggerfall.
DaggerXL now supports the seamless world map…"

daggerxl - world map, flats, objects, and foilage

Screenshots in the post show off the modern light system and long view distances.

Looks really nice … that is some great stuff they're doing!

That is actually quite impressive, especially coming from someone who is working alone.

Not to repost every blog entry, but time, sky, and interiors appear to be done now, and the sky really helps the screen shots. I think the screenshots form here on out won't be as interesting. I hope the progress on gameplay is as impressive as the rendering engine so far.

Considering the bugginess of DF it will be interesting to see what 'bugs' get fixed and what 'features' are left in.

Wowo that looks so good….if any of you have flashed up df lately you will know just how good;)

Thanks for the updates zzajin , it's a very interesting project.

There is a roadmap available now. Looks like a lot of work to be done. It also includes some extended features like bloom (lights only nothing crazy) and more interesting terrain features.
