Season passes primarily appeal to the pre-order and console folk, I'd imagine. DLC on consoles is much more rarely discounted, so the relatively modest savings of a season pass are more attractive….

Yeah, but the download size will be more to do with uncompressed textures, etc. Optimisation, particularly of the game engine, is more about getting extra out of the CPU/GPU.

Yeah, I do see where you're coming from about Steam adding value that Origin does not. You just need to adjust your expectations so that you perceive being able to play ME3 and DA3 as "added value."…

Well, if you want to go full tinfoil hat, how well do we really know what any bit of software is doing? Why the suspicion of Origin over, say, Steam. Or Chrome.
