SF2 > SF1 by a fair margin if you like roleplaying elements. Also, the way enemies spawned in SF1 annoyed me greatly, as it led to some strange "rush" tactics with XP farming afterwards.

I'm with DArtagnan: I don't feel it has aged well at all, with or without mods. The basic gameplay just isn't up to par compared to Skyrim, TW3 and so on.
