You have chosen the natural path which is admirable but it is not the "Gothic" path. You should be around level 13 or so before picking a faction and level 22 at the end of ch. 2 and the NOTR area….

I usually prefer 1st person but in the Gothic series, I find the FOV and the sense of motion wrong and I definitely find 3rd person better.

I'm 68 and retired. Can't tell you about before becoming "old" since I didn't start playing games until I was over 50. Anyway, I play 2-3 hours a day consistently and have for the last 15 years.
