I played through IWD1 at the higher difficulties, and tactics mostly revolved around kiting, choke points, web and other debuffs, and fireballing (or other AOE spells) against immobilised enemies….

For me it's probably either Alpha Protocol or Gothic 3 (IIRC most initial releases were highly critical, and justifiably so due to the horrible releas, but many reviewers also missed the good parts…
