would it be possible to make bribes no longer an option after say a negative 20 or 30 rating? That way You could fix a "mistake" but not be able to go to all out war with a faction then be buddy…

yeah, the food thing is kind of a cheap way of playing, so is abusing the item respawns. Still the idea of squishing fruit on your wounds in combat is part of the charm of these games.

I uninstalled the game, deleted all files I could find, used regedit (thanks, hadn't thought of that one) to delete all related files, then reinstalled. Still no luck. total mystery.

yeah, not there either.
Also tried doing a search for Boiling, Point, bp, and sav(e) on my hard drive and nothing turns up except for what's in the game folder.
