What d'you think, is this beyond the pale?

I read it as a comment on people like me who are concerned about animal welfare and salve their conscience by buying free-range eggs and biologically farmed meat and what not. Am I really just like the Nazi taking care to buy free-range Jew soap? Or am I reading too much into a strip that was just a joke in poor taste? You decide…
