I don't mean to be combative over something that is your choice but this sort of thing drives me crazy. You imply this game has been streamlined but this is the one you're going to buy. What message would you expect Jeff to take from that?

This isn't aimed at you specifically but Avernum 6 and Geneforge 4/5 are fantastic games that look almost as good as this. Stop talking about Dragon Age 2 and the streamlining of the genre and go play one of the best party-based CRPGs released in years.
