They took them down before the release of the game to avoid getting swamped by angry customers with install, registration, DLC redemption, gameplay and performance issues. At least that's my version of it.
Their version is that the release of the game and taking down the forums was a "coincidence" and that it had nothing to do with each other. The sad part is that the average CDP/GOG fanboi might even believe that but as for the rest of us… I mean exactly how stupid do they think we are?
