PC gaming has never been doing better. Big releases like Starcraft and Portal sell both faster and in higher numbers compared to 5 years ago. Meanwhile, digital distribution means that every PC copy sold brings in greater revenue compared to brick and mortar.

In addition to this, smaller developers like GSC, Paradox, Frictional, Taleworlds are selling in numbers that could only be achieved by high profile developers in the past.

But I guess defeatist PC gamers such as yourself only see doom and gloom. As for Bethesda's statement, I can think of several reasons why they (and other console focused publishers) would want people to think that PC gaming was dying.
