Hmm, sounds odd.

How about getting Scarpetta to attack Garcia, and then helping Garcia? Just give Scarpetta a good whack (power attack) every now and then. If I recall correctly, Garcia should hit him at least twice for every one of your attacks, or Scarpetta will attack you instead.
