Children around the age of four to seven have what's known as "intuitive thinking". Within this there are a couple of thought patterns that eventually go away in most people while growing up.

Animism, see items as alive with human thought and emotions.
Artificalism, see everything as made by people or by some god that can be repaired or replaced.
Magical thinking, the idea that you can think events to happen.
Phenomenalistic causality, things happens close in time and space are caused by one another.

If science were a religion I guess the moral of the story is that theists need to grow up or at least not use spamming to show they didn't.
