Just throw them at the boss and it will grant you a Demon Hammer, a huge hammer that can be used with 40 Strength IIIRC. There are other ways to acquire it, but this is the quickest one. Also, don't worry about using controller, it's just a matter of practice I hope you don't give up in the exploration of Lordran .
