I haven't played Borderlands 2 yet, but that was one of the things that detracted a bit from the first game IMO. The co-op feature can be fun, but I might be playing a certain kind of character who wants to talk to all the people in a village and find out what is going on, etc., and sometimes the random people who drop in to co-op would be just not into that type of gameplay at all.
Absolutely. We cover those issues with our Action Junkie, Explorer and Bookworm categories. If you haven't seen the full review, I actually addressed how Bookworm type gamers would be slightly disappointed with Borderlands 2 for being lacking in those very areas you pointed out. It's clear that story is secondary in the Borderlands series. This sequel does a bit better job with the voice acting, but the story and character interaction is still somewhat lacking.
