Can I jump in and ask a couple of questions for Farcry 3 for those who have played it (single player)?

Does your heatlh auto regenerate? And when you die do you reload from a checkpoint or respawn (as in come back to life with everything you did and picked up, Dead Island, Borderlands style)?
