Hey folks, Ross Tunney here (creator of #data//hacker).
I've just been notified of this article! Thanks to RPG watch for mentioning the project, exposure is greatly appreciated.
In answer to your queries guys, £300 just covers the game's original soundtrack. That's it. With stretch goals we can expand on the project further (we've hit £669, which has allowed me to commission some great artwork), but the only missing integral piece of the project was the soundtrack. It has been said that the soundtrack makes/breaks a game in this genre.
With regards to it being a 'nearly finished game', that's not the case. A lot of the core systems are in place, however the game itself is far from completion. This allows me to show off some half-decent screenshots, and have a working demo up and running for folks to try out, but there's still a long road ahead of me and those who have opted to contribute.
I'm happy to answer any other queries you guys might have, Ross
