Why is it so important with long games and a constant focus on amount of hours?

Long game= I wont finish it, since Other things take up my time and I will get bored/fatigued/etc and move on

There are only two games in the last couple of years that I have finished that I played for over 40 hours, and that is Deus Ex:HR and ME3.

Deus Ex had nice environment and a good story, and in ME3 I were invested in it since the first two games.

Skyrim, after 60+ hours everything felt empty and a Potemking village, old IE games, lovely but to time consuming.

I know its partly a matter of life situation, as a student I could spend 6h straight or more everyday for weeks until finished.

I'm rambling, to cut it short, give me more density of content instead of dead open vistas. I Like to finish games. Completionist at heart.

Sad list of games waiting for completion in backlog, recent entries.

No more hijacking ;-)
, to the developers of Witcher.
I don't want another Skyrim, pretty please!
But that seems to be the norm that all developers market or do PR.
