This game sounds interesting. About the death thing:

Characters who hit 0 health are taken out of the game and acquire a new condition. The character will probably be mostly useless until you cure said condition. So in these regards, it's no different from, say, DnD's death mechanics. Nor is it surprising that expensive items or powerful magic can cure this condition. Probably the only new thing is that "resting for an entire day" can cure this condition. By which I assume that resting for a long time is non-trivial? Maybe because you'll get attacked often?

Interesting, but OTOH never really "dying" even if a mountain collapses on top of you is kind of fishy.
