If you find "achievements" not having any value for you, subjectively, that's fine. It's the same for me. However, in the context of games, I can see why
players might find them worthwhile; they're an insta-clap on the back, which makes sense in the context of games, since overcoming obstacles and getting a satisfactory ending are but claps on the back as well.
