Republican Party identity

That's been tried by both parties at various times, usually by whichever party is losing the fundraising race at the time. Yes, even the evil corporate minions in the Republican party have waved the campaign finance reform banner more than once. Honestly, we've probably made the better (but still failed) stabs at it since the Democrats tend to revert to whining rather than problem solving when it's their turn with the banner, for whatever reason that might be.
Never gets any traction and the general public doesn't understand the problem enough to stay excited about it beyond the next Lindsey Lohan scandal. Add in that the whole system, from government to lobbyists to the media, have no real interest in change and every attempt from either side is doomed.
Sorry. No pearls of wisdom in this oyster.
