I know that the sales figures for Jade are always balanced against the new IP, but I wonder if it tried too hard to straddle two grounds. I say this not as an attack on the game and only from second-hand knowledge — I've yet to play it. While a couple of reviews were over the top (IGN's 9.9/10) several others seem to feel it didn't quite get the action stuff "right" enough for real action gamers while some RPG elements were too simplified (inventory, for example) to really add enough crunchy stuff.

I'm looking forward to finding out in a few weeks.
