Personally (and as someone who only rarely dabbles in MMOs), I think this is an excellent idea. If I'm really keen on LotOR, I can budget a one-off expense and play to my heart's content. Even if I get bored and decide to play something else in two year's time, I can can come back to this whenever I want without re-subbing and by then, I'm not really paying for it.
