Definitely sounds "innovative," but also slightly goofy.
I like the idea of playstyle impacting the game, but if twigs are going to grow out of my shoulders, it's going to make it difficult to get in and out of my +3 mage robes. And what about fire mages? Bursting into flames at the local inn could be awkward.

No doubt I'm oversimplifying. At least they're trying a different approach.
