What games are you playing now?

Been playing ME3 again last few days… Just finished Quarian/Geth plot line. I think this was the best part so far in the game, really enjoyed it. I really loved how Legion developed as a character & enjoyed his dialogue with other companion, particularly the one with Garrus over weapon calibration (that was gold!). On the other hand, I really disliked how Mordin's character turned out in ME3. Worst time to go through dramatic personality change, imo. Hopefully I will keep this momentum going to finish the game!

Playing through the Game of Thrones RPG now. Very reminicent of "Of Orcs and Men" - looks like the same engine, same 2 character set-up, same limited map sizes, pause for extreme slowdown to issue orders in combat, etc. Main character (Mors) reminds me of the badass preacher gunslinger in Call of Juarez, ie. gruff and old, and a badass - I half expected him to pull out a six shooter instead of a longsword.

Just played the DLC prequel and chapter 1 so far, but enjoying the GRRMdark ambience and plot so far. Combat and graphics are not top notch, but tolerable enough.

I'm playing X-Com Enemy Within and having great fun.

I first started with the "Save Scum" Second Wave option - but I decided to start over, because I was abusing it.

I'm playing on Classic - and I don't know if it's just me, but it seems quite a bit harder. Enemies tend to aim much better than I do - and I have to be really, really careful - which is actually how it should be at the start.

I'm hoping the game will last longer than the Enemy Unknown - because that was over too soon.

I don't know what it is with this formula - but it's one of the very, very, very few games that can hook me almost like it was 1994 again. Great ;)

I am finally playing the Witcher 2. On Dark mode. First time. Ha!

I normally play on normally, naturally. Usually action RPG difficulty increases are more a matter of having greater stamina and patience without making a goof along the way. That's not very interesting gameplay to me.

For Witcher 2, it has forced me to use bombs in at least one case (the Triss escort into Foltsam) which I never used in the first game. So that's a good thing I think. We'll see.

I am very impressed so far. It's visually spectacular and performs great with everything maxed (except oversampling off). Super animations, voice acting, good story. Overall, very engaging, challenging combat despite some bugs and some annoying QTEs.

I've done the first bit of chapter 1 / Flotsam and am still waiting for some role playing opportunities here with good C&C. As before, it seems nothing Geralt does is either good or evil. All pretty grey. I've tried to pick choices with a minimum of killing, but that kind of turned out bad for Aryan and Castle LaVallete. Oh well. Not really roleplaying much, but having fun with an intriguing interactive story.

The crafting is really over the top, I think. Multiple levels of crafted items, needed as inputs for higher level items makes it more expensive to craft than buy. Especially given the up front cost of buying the schematic. Kind of broken. I am trying to scrounge up enough coin to craft the first Dark outfit and swords, before doing many of the quests. Looted everything that wasn't locked down and still quite a bit short. Grinding arm wrestling contests to afford the crafting is not really my idea of fun, though…

I may just stop arm wrestling for now and do more quests for coins.

Hi Folks,

Currently I'm playing

- World of Warcraft (after a pause of 1 year I''m finally back in Azeroth^^)
- Diablo3 (The game still sucks but I think/hope the next Addon might be pretty good)
- Hearthstone (IMO best game for "in between")
- Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag (by far the best AC so far!!! I love pirates ARRRRR!!!!)
- Kerbal Space Program (I love this game!)
- GTA5 (almost done)
- Skyrim (I will always play Skyrim. It is my 2nd Life^^)

And I can't wait for the Steam Christmas Sale. I will look out for the following games:

- Fallout New Vegas
- X3
- Rome 2
- Witcher 3
- Borderlands 2 DLCs

Well I got through the Kayran quest in Witcher 2. Ugh. What a boss fight on Dark mode. It wasn't too bad once I figured out why I was constantly taking damage from a mysterious source. Since when did the word "outfit" include the wielding of swords? Screwed by a mistranslation again. ;)

I've just been playing Everquest 2, with the newest expansion that came out about 3 weeks ago. It has really remade the entire game in some ways, the group zone instances are a blast to run, especially the 3 in Veeshan. Vulak ftw!

Starbound beta. Very promising.. trying to play as little as possible to not ruin the fun of experiencing the full game later on. Terraria on steroids.

Metro Last Light. Extremely impressive in tems of attention to detail, absolutely stunning. Gameplay is ok too, i guess i dont really enjoy shooters as much as i used to. I imagine myself seeing this game 15 years ago, wow, it would've been like going to heaven (well, more like hell really).

Yeah the atmosphere and visuals are top notch no doubt about that, it seems its all there is though…

And I am not sure that its strictly down to us not being shooter players either. I believe its not really highly regarded as a very good one in the genre anyways (?)

Compared to what's been released the last several years in that genre, Last Light is very good imo. I liked Metro 2033 just a bit more though.

Well I'll defer to the connoisseurs on this one but I'll certainly liked 2033 more also (more atmospheric I believe).

The only comparison I have from the Last couple of years is Crysis 2 anyway (meh, that was wasted money even in an ultra sale :-/ )...

I guess I only like the Stalkers in the end, for their setting and sandbox gameplay mostly after all (I did enjoy stuff Like undying and realms of the haunting in the past though).

Almost at chapter 6 of my BG:EE playthrough. Some very rough thoughts as I gotta leave it aside for a while.

I got mostly positive thoughts apart from a lot of the content being fairly generic and the story being nothing special at this point (important "issues" but it's too early to judge). I was very positively surprised by how easy the game was to get into and how hassle free and entertaining the actual gameplay is. Not sure how much of that is up to the EE, the Infinite Engine just being utilized more properly than it was in PS:T or my coming from the dreadful and much more micro-management focused NWN2 engine.

So far my main area of interest is actually comparing it to later Bioware games or general Black Isle RPGs. It really feels much more similar to the Fallout games in terms of the considerable free-roaming. Also it's been interesting to see how the balance of the hordes of throwaway almost "easter-eggish" NPCs (those who only have a line before disappearing), potential companions (I've lost count) and amount of dialogue with important main-quest NPCs has changed since then.

How long did it took you to get to chapter 6? Also how are you find the old D&D rule set?

Still playing Witcher 2. In chapter 2 right now, and am still really liking it. It's definitely the most beautiful game I've ever played.

(and I'm not referring to the numerous ploughing cutscenes.)

Not sure what to make of the combat. Seems like the igni sign, and signs in general are pretty weak. Part of the problem being that the dps is too low, and having to wait for slow vigor regeneration. Can't really do enough damage with them alone. Same thing for bombs. Mostly I'm keeping Quen up and dodging a lot and using Yrden occasionally to stun and slow. I am having to play very defensively. But not finding parry particularly helpful (I still take damage). This is on Dark mode even with its special craftable "outfits". Maybe I should have stuck to normal difficulty so I could have played a more sign heavy witcher?

About a week or what I guess was ~20hours of gametime. I find the rules to be quite easy especially in comparison to 3.5 but still a bit too combat-centric if compared to its contemporary Fallout games.

I finished my first playthough of Steamworld Dig a couple of days ago, and another run through Arkham City. Now I'm plodding along with an orc thief in Skyrim and wondering what to do next. I might give Dishonored a try.
