Hello,
I played Risen 3 a tiny bit yesterday on the RPC.
It looked good.
I was talking to someone from Deep Silver (if I recall that name correctly), and he didn't tell me a lot of things …
The tiny bit I played was a landing on a tiny beach, which is a small harbour, and there is a building of someone who is selling stuff to magiciians. In fact, one magician is standing close by, so that he can give you very, very basic information. A gnome or what this was (was also in Risen 2) is carrying stuff from a nearby< landed ship (I think) into that small store building. The character you play has someone watching over you (probably a guard ? - as I didn't see the intro, I don't know yet) , and he is called Mendoza.
I was told that -
- PC is the lead platform
- if Risen 2 was running well on the PC, then Risen 3 will be running well on it as well (that's the only information I could get regarding sys specs, since he was not a tech guy)
- it has 3 factions (again)
- it is leaning rather towards Risen 1 and that means a bit away from the pirate theme
- it has no Steam.
I asked about this "Steam hate" (his words, not mine), whether this was an German thing or an international thing.
And he told me : "This is a German thing." In the U.S. and in UK as well, *everybody* wants Steam, and games are not delivered without Steam anymore (so I understood him), and very often not even sold in stores anymore.
As I told him that Steam was in my opinion DRM, he literally said to me (I still have his words in my ears : "Steam is DRM", while nodding very much.
Which implies that, if international companies wonder why games with Steam are not selling well here in Germany - well, that's because we Germans don't want any Steam.
A bit about personal talking :
We talked about DRM a bit further, and he told me - that was his purely *personal* opinion, mind you ! - that UPlay was "much worse than Steam" (his words, not mine). And that he doesn't have any games with DROM ? I'm not sure about that anymore.
Well, we talked a tiny bit about GOG vs. Steam, and he we both found that we had a similar opinion about GOG : Much better than Steam, no DRM, and LOTS of older titles. He owns a lot from GOG, he told me.
Sacred 3 was both playable there and the intro movie (the one we already know from YouTube with that stone bridge battle) was shown there as well, but I didn't get any possibility to play it.
I looked at the playable Sacred 3, and it looked a bit too colourful to me, and the GUI a bit too much streamlined.
Unfortunately I can't say much more about the other games that were shown there, since I was rather interested in getting news about the Beta of the TDE ( = DSA) 5th Edition rule set. I bought it in its print form, after Eevie Dmirtel, who works for Ulisses, told in an workshop that Ulisses was having almost no profits with the printed edition of the Beta. I haven't read it yet, but I got myself informed that at least the character generation is much faster and a bit more streamlined in TDE 5.
There are already 4 or 5 group adventures published in print form for the beta, to get it thoroughly tested by the players.
Apart from that, there's still the "Newbie Edition" (my words) of TDE5 planned, and it will be published under the label of "DSA Classic". Adventures made for it are planned to be made, too.
The bad thing about both is : DSA Classic and 5th Edition will be INCOMPATIBLE with one another !
Which I find very sad, personally. Partly because I fear that "DSA Classic" will stiop to be pursued at one point, in favour to the "main" rule set.
There was a tiny TDE museum as well, which contained a few books in Dutch language as well, plus one TDE novel in English language.
Well, that's it. I don't plan to do the second day of the RPC, so that's all information I can give you now.

Edit :
2 more things :
- Publishing date for Risen 3 : August this year.
- Publishing date for Dragon Age : Inquisition, according to a sheet of paper : October, 9th, 2014
This sheet of paper also tells me this, translated from German language :
"Exclusive for preoprderers at Saturn [which is an electronics store chain here in Germany] : The 'Flames Of The Inquisition' Weapons pack.
The first 50 preorderers receive one of 50 limited Dragon Age Lithographies."
EA has its German headquarter in Cologne, where the RPC takes place.
