Although the official NA launch is imminent, some of us have been waiting for a patch for other versions for quite a while. Swen 'Lar' Vincke posts a short update on the Larian forums and - fingers crossed - we'll see the patch this week:
Believe it or not, the patch has been ready for quite some time, but there's a lot of process this thing has to go through before it can be released. Out of that process came one issue which is now fixed, so I hope you'll still see it this week. My sincere apologies.
More information.

It's called a "public beta".

Give it a try sometimes and see how your fans won't think you are ignoring the cries of "shitty game engine that lags every few seconds for no reason at all". Releasing a patch after eternity when most people have finished playing the buggy product or ditched it to move on to DA and other random games on the list is just.. annoying actually. Mostly cause I will now end up restarting the game from scratch to get into the game again after all this time.

Hmm I wonder if they fixed the loading Bug and if they are going to offer a patched
demo version (or ideally the Patch should apply to the demo too)...

My order of Divinity 2 from Amazon shipped yesterday. It'll arrive well ahead of the weekend, so hopefully the patch is out by then - if so, I'll definetly be playing it during the weekend.

I'm quite far into the game now, and so far I haven't hit any of the game breaking bugs - fortunately - but the performance is poor and really needs to be tweaked. I also think there are some game balance issues which need to be addressed. I always feel underpowered - have to make inching progress through later game stages, where everyone >= your level (or at best, 1-2 levels lower). Also, your dragon form can't attack people on the ground - which makes no sense - even if they are on a cliff side! I think this ruins the impact of having a dragon form in the first place and makes game progress very slowly as you have to grind you way through hordes of ground based enemies (which are clustered in groups of 5-7 at regular intervals :-/) (I'm in the Orobas Fjiord…ugh)

For my character it is almost the reverse and is really powerful with my bow and magic. I kill things several levels higher then me without problem and even killed the guys in the fort in Broken Valley (which were 10 levels higher then me at the time) just before leaving Broken Valley.

The only game problems I have had were either fixed through compatibility modes or are minor. (Shadows are jagged and look like crap and even characters have some of that)

I am a melee+ magic specialist. And I get screwed every time by high level 'rangers' - I fear (and hate) them! Example: at level 20 or so two rangers fired arrows which each hit for 224 points of damage (about 2x what my melee weapon does, at max) - I only have 324 health …*blam* dead - from a great distance. Took a lot of sneakiness to kill them, but they were the *same* level as me. That is simply broken. Range weapons are supposed to do *much* less damage than melee, but at a safe distance. The point being that a ranged attacker can get several shots in as you move to engage. Unfortunately that is simply not the case with the current implementation. I really hope they fix it. I tried killing the guys in the mine when I was level 18 or so - they killed me in two shots.

As for bugs: I have this wierd one when the screen goes into this mode where everything is 'motion blurred' and in slow-mo, sword has a glowing blue trail etc but I can't use mouselook only W,A,S,D - can't turn. Nothing I do can cancel it. If I save and reload it's fine though.

Actually…Divinity 2 has been in NA stores since last week.

Yeah, but apparently that is a publisher fluke ... the DD version isn't enabled yet.
