reviews of movies or games i can usually grab enough information to go on. but as far as music goes i almost always like to base it off of a 'living' reference.

thats a sweet name at the very least. i'm trying out an emusic program for a month so i'll see if its on there. if not i'll add it to my ebay search list. thanks for the rec.

Indeed! Thanks for the Time Warp, HiddenX.. I thought of that cut earlier in the thread when sedation was mentioned...:)

Yes, but they all represent REAL music, with melodies and decent lyrics, etc, etc!! :)

For the younger ones on this board:

- The Time Warp Lyrics

It's astounding, time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely, not for very much longer
I've got to keep control

I remember doing the Time Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me and the void would be calling
Let's do the time warp again...
Let's do the time warp again!

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane,
Let's do the Time Warp again!

It's so dreamy, oh fantasy free me
So you can't see me, no not at all
In another dimension, with voyeuristic intention
Well-secluded, I see all
With a bit of a mind flip
You're there in the time slip
And nothing can ever be the same
You're spaced out on sensation, like you're under sedation
Let's do the Time Warp again!

Well I was walking down the street just a-having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink
He shook me up, he took me by surprise
He had a pickup truck and the devil's eyes.
He stared at me and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again
Let's do the Time Warp again!

The first LP - bought by myself - was the Red Beatles Album at the age of 12.
I never liked singles so much - I think the first single was one of these:

Twisted Sister - I wanna Rock
Dee Snider rocks

John Lennon - Nobody Told Me
so true:
Everybody's talking and no one says a word

Kim Wilde - The Second Time
- classy lady

Trio - Da Da Da
- the minimalists of the "Neue deutsche Welle"

Dont Cry - G'n R

bought Use Your Illusion 1&2 today, it's funny how some music brings back memories so vivid.

a few years ago i heard a track i love my man on the faithless back to mine compilation. i then picked up another comp by faithless the bedroom sessions not to long after with swollen and even better song. these 2 songs got me very interested in the band who made them, bent who i had never heard of. all i could find was a 2 disc single set. then i ran across a copy of an actual album ariels 6 months ago but never listened to it. i put it on my zen though and last month on the long drive to and from oregon i listened to it a few times. it was awesome and as lovely as the landscapes around me. a few days ago i nabbed another album - the everlasting blink. while not one of my favourite songs of there's this is an enjoyable video.

Man, I'm getting annoyed with not being able to hear or post sound clips...

Chameleons UK: Return of the Roughnecks 2cd edition
Criminally ignored band!

@Gig- have you seen a picture of the Nelson twins recently? Don't remember where I saw it, but it wasn't pretty.

I think they're both from Manchester as well... I've never heard them before but I've run into them in some texts because of my interest in some other "Gothic" (like Joy Division ) brittish acts of the time.

Currentlly listening to Plesure and Pain. :)

This "choral collage" works better than it has any right to. Take a trip around the world.

(Part 2 dips into murkier waters, and may be too experimental for you.)
