Grim Dawn - Named: Crate Entertainment's Game

"Grim Dawn" ? Another take on the "D&G" genre/cliché ?

D&G? It'll fall in the same category as the Diablo Franchise, Torchlight and Titan Quest. Don't expect much originality, but it might be quite fun if you like that kind of games. There's actually more info on this, they have launched a site dedicated to their new title and are currently accepting pre-orders.

Thanks for posting the website link, yerkyerk. I hadn't realized this was going to be a steampunk-style action rpg. Have to say I like the way it's shaping so far, and I think the Titan Quest engine is one of the more under-used features of what made that game so playable. And you have to like a FAQ with at least a rudimentary sense of humor:
When is the release date?

Since we are not currently answerable to any publisher, we will work on Grim Dawn until we are satisfied that it is ready for release (or at least up until the moment that the first team member dies of starvation). That said, we are currently targeting early 2011.

Pre-orders on a game not expected to be done till 2011 at the earliest?

What I got from the FAQ is that they're primarily looking for partial financing through the pre-order system. But you do get the beta to playtest as soon as it's ready. ;)
