RoA: Blade of Destiny - Several Patches Released

From what I take from the german forums, no not yet. It's getting better, but there are still many loose ends. They have kept to their schedule, but there are many issues left, new ones are found, sometimes patches break stuff that was working...
Give it a couple of weeks.
I think a review only makes sense when they have actually fixed this thing, otherwise we will only talk about one of the most badly botched launches in gaming history, and everbody already knows that.

That makes sense, yes.

it extends into September.
I didn't buy that game yet.
But I can't understand why releasing it before september if there are so many things to work on.

Reading the roadmap for patches boggles the mind. I mean really, the game is in complete shambles if, for example, only just now (after some ten patches) they will manage to get illnesses and using of talents while camping in the game (listed as "new" not "fixed" on the roadmap). Not the biggest thing in the game, granted, but a remake of ROA 1 without illnesses and all sorts of activity while camping isn't really a remake of ROA 1. Those were pretty big, stand out features for me when I first played the original game.

I think the only possible explanation is that Crafty would have folded, or at least would have had to forfeit the project if they hadn't shipped it. This way they can continue to operate on the initial steams sales (I doubt they sell much anymore at the moment...).

Well sorry, but I won't buy it and hope it gets polished eventually.
It'd be spitting on my own face as I can't stand bug-o-ramas more than bad design.

6 Hours ago on Steam: "Promised. We will not stop work until everything is fixed. This is also the key message from the GamesCom interviews."

I haven't yet given up on this game - just hope they can fix it. My guess is it will need more than another month tho.

They're on schedule with their patches though. A break for the GC was planned.

@crpgnut - Yes, have been following the progress on Steam and it looks like they are serious about getting the game fixed. Will probably give it another try in a month or two. Apparently they still intend to do the two sequels.

So I take it this game is not in a playable state yet?

Is it really that bad?

Think it probably is playable now, but maybe a better experience to wait until they've finished fixing it up. It's a pity they shot themselves in the foot by releasing too early, but it could turn out to be a pretty good game if the devs are able to keep up their sustained effort.

I'm thinking of picking it up next weekend because I'm finally getting bored of Ego Draconis, Dragon Knight Saga, and Divinity 2 the Director's Cut. They all seem like the same game ;)

I got bored and am downloading this now. I'll post initial impressions from the current version and let you guys, especially those watching their money, know when I believe the game is stable. I'm sure its still buggy right now, but I want to see where they're at.
