Dungeon Siege 3 - Hands-on Video

Machinima has posted a ~5 minute hands-on video preview of Dungeon Siege III from a recent trip to Obsidian. The first minute is taken up with an old trailer but as it goes along, you get a pretty good look including the UI and glimpses of dialogue.

At least the dialogue wheel isn't just poses. The actual words are there.

Will this be competing with Diablo III? If so, ouch! The combat looks a bit stiff in comparison.

Nah, D3 will be at least 6 months later..

Why's that a bad thing? Could you imagine an action RPG with NWN2's combat?

Maybe, maybe not - but I can definitely imagine an action RPG with Dungeon Siege's 2 combat

i thought nvn2 was an action rpg?

not like there was any serious exploration and c&c in it

that's laughable really.

the lack of exploration is due to it being a tileset game rather than an openworld. i'm not really aware of many modern party based rpgs that do otherwise. and in comparision to bioware games i'd say there was as much if not more. also if "c&c" is relating to choices and consequences then again the only real comparision to modern games is bioware and i'd say NWN2 especially Mask of the Betrayer topples the competition. also even in comparision to open worlds such as oblivion, fallout 3 and even risen theres more in NWN2. its only real competition in that department is the witcher (non-party) and obsidian's own games Alpha Protocol or New Vegas.
